Google Arts & Culture: Chronicles of American Politics

In 2018, Google Arts & Culture asked me to add my posters documenting the sorry state of American political discourse to their archive of museum’s and art organization’s artworks. I created a seven-part online exhibition of this work. It was the first time Google published current political art. I am presently working on an eighth chapter.

Each chapter builds a narrative for these posters, starting in 2010 with the rise of the Tea Party, through the tumultuous years of the Trump administration, to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The work starts with Partisanship on Overdrive and continues with The Electorate, Politicians and Our Political Process, The Issues, Post Truth: The Contentious Election, Post Election: Post-Truth Reaches New Heights, and concludes with the recently-launched Immigration, Obstruction, Redaction, Oh My!

Through image and commentary, these posters chronicle the changes that have taken place in the American political landscape for the last ten years. This presentation is a unique and accessible way to study our recent American history.
